I downloaded Whatsapp to my phone just yesterday and when i enter my number to register, it says the number is not a valid number? Any ideas on how to fix this issue?
all you have to do is email firstname.lastname@example.org they will go ahead and put the number in their system and you can use it. It took my request three hours for a response.
I was able to install whatsapp successfully on my Defy around Christmas time. Bought a Defy for my wife about a month ago and whatsapp says that her number is not a valid number. I don't know why it works on one phone but not another. whatsapp developer did not respond to a request for assistance. it's a bummer. :-(
I am having the exact same problem. it says my phone number is not a valid phone number for the country: United States
I am getting the same problem. I even tried installing the app again and clearing the cache. No luck.
OOps... dat's definitely not something i'd like to experience. I've just ordered my phone and whatsapp is my major reason for wanting it asides the cheap and unlimited data..... so its gonna be really bad if that happens.
I have had an issue that is somewhat similar using TIKL. Try installing the application when your phone is in a Wi-Fi area and the arc in the upper left part of the phone's screen is green. This should allow for your correct number to show up. This worked for me after uninstalling and reinstalling TIKL in a Wi-Fi area.
Update to my situation and help for all of you. I've been in contact via email with whatsapp support team. Email them at email@example.com. I believe they made some sort of change on their end that allowed my wife to enable it.
My guess is that whatsapp is designed for mobile phone numbers. RW numbers are classified as landline numbers since they are VOIP. In my wife's case, the number that she received was what would normally be a landline number in my area (616) 797-XXXX.
Anyway, whatsapp support made the change and now my wife's number is verified.
Thank you so much!
So I emailed firstname.lastname@example.org gave my phone number and they added to the list. They asked where my phone number came from. I advised that it was from Republic Wireless. They advised that it shows as landline and that all Republic Wireless persons wanting to have the service would need to send email to the address with phone number asking to be added to the list.
All Republic Wireless (and all Google Voice numbers as well, because Google is getting their number from Banhdwith.com, the parent company of Republic Wireless), have a problem with whatsapp.
As others have suggested, try contacting whatapp's support, (you'll get an automated reply, respond to that and a human will read it).
I just went through the whatsApp number verification process after having it for about 3 months. My number verified probably because it was ported from my At&T account long ago so it is a cell number. The verification process was detailed calling and texting "secret" codes. I passed luckily. Good luck to all..
