I saw that the Moto G details are being released on November 13th. I cannot determine if this is an upgrade from the Moto X. I hope the Moto X gets released soon before the technology gets too old
The Moto X is the phone that Motorola is pushing. It is there top of the line phone arguable. The Moto G is rumored to be the less expensive alternative to the Moto X.
Check out the 'details' on the moto g in this thread
MOTO G Unofficial preliminary specifications
The Moto X is the "best" of the new RW lineup after BETA.
State of the art constantly changes , "old" is a maybe the wrong term for a phone that's only been on the market for just over 60 days.. There's a good and better phones in the pipeline too, post BETA.
Republic Wireless; A cheap date gets an even cheaper phone (the Moto G)! - The Gay Techno Parade
good find william, suspicions seem to be true.
williamj.qd8u66 Congratulations --
You've posted the first in-print article about the middle phone with pictures, dates and prices. I'd sure be happy if it is true.
Well at least the dates appear to be confirmed (How long do I have to upgrade from my LG Optimus S?)
This states " You have until 30 days after the release of our next phone in Q1 of 2014 to ...." highlighting by author not me
Sweet! I haven't decided whether to go with the Moto X or the Moto G yet, but the latter is definitely within my budget.
Thanks william, good find. I am on Tracfone and use the ZTE Valet. I will get on the Republic bandwagon if the G is released. I realize Republic Wireless is having problems with some of their customers, but i'm willing to try RW and the G and see how things go. I pay around $10 a month at Tracfone ($20 per card tripled for 3 months) and the G phone is just a few dollars more the the Valet (it was $100 when i first bought it).
If the G at RW doesn't work out, i can always go back to Tracfone and my Valet or even the LG 840, which i still have.
Since no one really knows the RW pricing for the Moto G. Would you get the 8GB moto G for $179 or the 16GB for $199? Those are the retail prices on motomaker.
If in fact, the Moto G is the next phone (), I'm curious to find out if RW will offer both versions.
I am thinking they will skip the 8GB option and just go with 16GB. The third promised phone will then be in the $100 range.
Here we go, let the guessing begin, again.
Carlh posed an interesting idea, what if 16GB is the better phone and the 8GB is the good phone?. But y ou would think the better would have 4G capabilities
Missed that one, very intresting indeed. However, given the retail pricing, I feel that not many would opt for "half" the memory in order to save $20.
I was surprised that Moto would offer two devices with such a small difference in price in the first place. Now if the 8GB was offered at $100.....game on.
What I think is very interesting is that Verizon is selling the 8GB version of the Moto G for CDMA for $99 on prepaid. They also have the $50 monthly plan through WalMart which includes Unlimited Talk, Text, and 1 GB of High Speed Data. I cannot help but wonder if this is one of the big Wireless carriers responding to what RW has done? Up until now, Verizon has not had many good prepaid offerings in my experience. The Moto G is one of the best phones they have offered.
I certainly think RW sent a "shockwave" throughout the Cellular industry.
