10MP is too big for me. Can I lower it? I couldn't find the option to do so.
No, sorry. From Motorola : How do I change the resolution when taking a photo or video?
I had that feeling.
That's a little annoying. I usually throttle down the resolution on my phone as 10MP is way more than I usually need it to be. Oh well, guess I'll just have to deal with those higher res pics.
I know, right?
If you never zoom in while viewing your pictures like myself, there is no reason to have a resolution larger than your screen. My screen is 1080p, which translates to roughly 2.1MP...
I just tested an app at the Play store that does this quite nicely. Just load photo and then save photo. During the save routing you can pick the size you want. Alternatively, you can change the resolution during the edit process. To do this quickly you can reorganize the menu so that the first option is the one that changes the size:
Photo Editor - Android Apps on Google Play
Thanks for the info.
I can see how this app could help you if you're willing to spend the time to downsize all the photos each and every time.
I still wish they had built it into the phone!
Agree. How much time does Motorola think we have resizing all our photos? Just admit yet another crippled feature.
The crippled person can still do the task, just takes more time or effort.
I just installed Google's stock camera app from the Play store. It does have settings to change the resolution. So one could just start using that (or probably other camera apps) instead of the Motorola one. It does mean another app to install, but you won't have to resize pictures individually. Unfortunately, I don't think you can change the shake feature to launch a different camera app.
Just use a different camera app - most of those you download have the ability to select resolution. Here's one:
Camera MX - Android Apps on Google Play
